About Evangelos:
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 15 years of experience in the social work field. I understand that selecting a therapist can be just as challenging as deciding to begin therapy. Therefore, this is my pledge to you: I will welcome you into therapy with compassion, professional competence, and a sincere sensitivity to the specific circumstances motivating you to seek therapy at this time.
My clinical work is grounded in helping people develop a healthier relationship with themselves and others. I work closely with individuals who experienced relational traumas throughout the course of their lifetime and thus find intimacy challenging. Individuals who developed protective strategies earlier in life to stay safe – strategies that once served an importance purpose but have since become limiting, maladaptive, and harmful. The individuals I work with have struggled with secretive and/or compulsive sexual behaviors for some time – leading them to experience psychological pain, relationship hardships, and disconnection.
I believe self-discovery and recovery can be gained through connection. Our work would focus on making sense of your lived experience, how your story unfolded, and how your experiences shaped the way you see yourself and how you relate to others. The focus would be to create space for insight and behavioral change that is thoughtful and rooted in meaningful and lasting growth.
You can expect sessions with me to be interactive, catered to your specific needs, and above all else, sessions will always be a place of safety where your individuality will be valued and respected. It is my hope to foster a relationship with you that helps you attain freedom from problematic sexual behaviors, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and rebuild your life.
